Igualada City Council

Igualada City Council is the Public institution for the local government of the city. Its functions are government and administration of the municipality.

Among the many tasks of the Council, the most relevant for the INTER-TEX project are:

  • Development of active employment policies (Orientation, Training, Intermediation, prospection, Insertion) and the promotion and support to the entrepreneurs.
  • Collaboration with socio-economic actors stakeholders to develop programs to support commercial initiatives, revitalization of strategic sectors of the city (among them the textile sector).
  • Internationalization: The municipality develops tasks for the city internationalisation, implanting actions for the positioning of the town and its strategic sectors, as well as participation in transnational programs.

ATP

ATP – Textile and Clothing Association of Portugal is an employer association, with national scope, and represents around 500 companies from all sub-sectors of textile and apparel sector. These companies provide more than 35.000 jobs and a turnover of 3.000 million Euros, of which two third parts are destined to exportation.

ATP was created in 2003, as a result from the APT – Portuguese Textile and Clothing Association and APIM – Portuguese Knitwear Association merge, becoming consequently the organization more representative of the Portuguese textile and apparel sector and one of the most important at European level. This importance is coincident with the prominence of the textile and apparel industry in Portugal, which represent 11% of the added value and 20% of the employment in the manufacturing industry, and more than 10% of total exports.

To fulfil the needs of the associates companies, ATP provide varied and personalized services, in areas such as: labor, tax, commercial, civil and competition law, European Community law, international trade, national and international statistics, incentive systems, internationalization, environment, quality, R & D, energy, professional training and industrial licensing, commercial information, textile and fashion fairs, among others.

ACCIÓ

ACCIÓ is the competitiveness agency of the Catalan Government. ACCIÓ main objective is to promote innovation and internationalization among Catalan enterprises (especially SME’s, as they represent 98% of all the enterprises in the region) as well as attracting inward investment. ATEVAL

ATEVAL is a private industrial association founded in 1977. Nowadays it has more than 470 associated textile companies, and represents almost 13.000 persons employed. ATEVAL has several departments: Management and Administration, Industry and Environment, Labour, Training and External Promotion. It is also the Association that coordinated the actions of the “Consejo Intertextil Español” (CIE) under the name of “Home Textiles from Spain”. ATEVAL is permanently in contact with several institutions and bodies of national and autonomic scope, for example MINER, ICEX, IVEX, Valencian Chambers of Commerce, CIE, CEOE, CEV, COEPA, AVE, FMIV, AITEX, CEII, CITYC, Ferial Contests, etc. One of their services is training, where they perform the management of training projects, prospection of the area training needs, management of the training aspect of the learning contracts, programming, management and tracking of the Continuous Training courses (FORCEM) and Occupational Training, agreements for the promotion and tracking of textile specialties in professional and occupational training. ATEVAL has an Industry and Environment department with expertise in developing projects for environmental adaptation, planning regarding minimization of wastes and special agreements on environmental improvements with the Administration. It also gives advice on environmental issues. This department develops activities such as: Information about national and regional legislation related to Interior Commerce, Industry, Transports, etc. Assistance about funding lines for companies, Support to funding applications management, Environmental Adaptations Projects, Minimisation of wastes Plans, Special agreements with Public Administration for environmental improvements, Agreements for improvement and monitoring of occupational hazard.

MODACC

MODACC is a non-profit business association who works as a cluster key to boost the competitiveness of the Catalan fashion ecosystem, through cooperation initiatives between companies and professionals. MODACC promotes services and initiatives for internationalization, training, research, development and innovation.

The 125 companies that currently integrate MODACC, generate 1,500 million euros of turnover, they have commercial presence in more than 200 countries and occupy more than 5,000 professionals.

MODACC members are design companies, production, distribution, brands and businesses related to the fashion sector. Cluster also includes knowledge support entities. This configuration ensures the participation of the whole value chain of the textile-fashion sector of Catalonia.

The values ​​of the cluster are vision, cooperation and dynamism.

For MODACC, strategic axes are: internationalization, re-industrialization, social branding and communication, promotion of R&D&i and training for human resources of the sector.

UITSUD

UITSUD

UIT SUD, the professional Textile Union in the South-Western of France, federates an entire textile industry in Occitanie and Nouvelle Aquitaine areas, from fiber to end product.

It ensures the development of the member companies by:

  • Providing assistance with exports and marketing by organizing:
    • Company participation in exhibitions in Europe and other foreign countries,
    • Promotional stands in leading Fairs,
    • Assignments involving the prospecting of new markets,
    • Dissemination of information about Market,
    • Meetings with foreign buyers in France,
    • Seeking financing,
    • Information on the preferential rules of origin, Customs codes, labelling, …
